Note To Self: Gates Are Open

As you already know, I talk to myself regularly.  Today was no different.  There are two things that I wanted to do that are now coming to pass and with each of those things I have realized that I still struggle with thinking small. I was excited about each goal but as they came closer to achievement I realized that my excitement had decreased.  I asked myself if fear was trying to hold me back from reaching my goals by disguising itself as lack of enthusiasm.  What I realized was just the opposite.  After pondering about fear I realized that I had set small goals and when I got closer to those small goals I needed something bigger to work toward.   The only thing holding me back from big goals and big rewards is small thoughts.

I attended Bishop TD Jakes’ book talk for his bestseller “Instinct” and want share this story with you. Even if you’re feeling trapped in a job or career, powerful instincts still lie beneath the surface, just as they do for a caged lion that has never been in the wild. “If all of his experiences have been in the cage and that would be his natural habitat to him, then why do they lock the cage?” Jakes says. “They lock the cage because even though his experiences do not validate it, his instincts tell him there’s something else out there.”

There is something more out there for you and for me. Gates Are Open!!
