“Nobody comes back from a journey the way they started it.” -Unknown
My trip to the Herr’s Snack Factory in Pennsylvania was derailed by a snow storm. As I checked my calendar to see which day I would reschedule the tour, I realized that there are food factories right here in my hometown. I mentioned in a previous blog that I wanted to tour a local cola factory and my county’s recycling plant but Dreyer’s Ice Cream from Nestle is here as well as Cloverland Farm Dairy. I decided that once per month I will take an inexpensive day trip.
I grew up in Washington, DC where we can tour museums and national parks and monuments for free at any time of the year. I’m ready to return to my days of being a “tourist” in my hometown. I will still travel out of state but my goal is to do something new each month. I believe these small changes can have big results as we continue to expand our perspectives, visions, and opportunities. Not only will we make new memories but I ‘m sure a break from routine will allow a renewal of energy, mind and spirit.
What sights have you been longing to see? What new activities have you put off? This is about creating a fun experience spending a lot of money. Will you commit to taking this tourist journey with me? I would love to hear about your monthly day trips.
