At Nicki Sanders Leadership Consulting, my mission is simple – to eliminate toxic workplaces by developing skilled, empathetic, and goal-oriented leaders who have the vision, support, and resources to create a culture where business prospers and employees thrive individually and collectively.
I have a 27-year career in human services which includes 24 years in training and workshop facilitation, 17 years in management, 10 years in higher education, and host of other professional experiences has solidified my expertise in Career Development, Professional Development, and Organizational Development.
I have done extensive research in nonprofit and government leadership and assisted numerous professionals and agencies in achieving their workforce goals. As a leader, I have utilized my social work education and training to the benefit of each of my previous employers and current clients.
In industries with traditionally high turnover rates, I developed a reputation for two things; (1) building well-qualified, dedicated teams, and (2) managing high-level teams that deliver impactful, sustainable programs with passion and integrity.
My success in hiring and managing multidisciplinary teams, recruiting and training volunteers and interns, and developing, managing, and expanding diverse programs has given me the confidence and capability to help other leaders and managers do the same.

Organizational Leadership Experience
- I’ve been responsible for meeting the program objectives of small grants from local community agencies, foundations, and larger government contracts.
- I’ve managed multiple public/private partnerships.
- I’ve advocated and testified in front of county and city council members.
- I’ve worked with teams on successful fundraising events in large venues as well as in the homes of wealthy donors.
- I’ve coordinated holiday drives, clothing drives, and feminine hygiene drives.
- I’ve organized and facilitated focus groups and research projects.
- I’ve run parenting groups, social skills groups, life skills groups, and peer education groups.
