A goal is the purpose toward which an endeavor is directed.  Setting goals helps you clarify what you want and what you need to do to achieve it. 

 

Today I want to provide you with a template for SMART goal setting with youth.

S.M.A.R.T. goals are:

 

(1) Specific (2) Measurable (3) Attainable (4) Realistic (5) Timely

 

To achieve your goals:

  1. Make a plan
  2. Commit – be willing to make sacrifices and take calculated risks
  3. Prioritize goals and create benchmarks and milestones
  4. Take Action
  5. Revisit, evaluate, and if you need to adjust your goals
  6. Find someone to encourage you and hold you accountable
  7. Reward your achievements
