Thank You Dr. King

Today I sit in gratitude. I am grateful that I can live in the neighborhood of my choice.  Grateful that I can travel on interstate 95 without burden and fear. Grateful that I can write this blog and have it read by people all over the world without sanctions. Grateful that I can eat in the restaurant calling out to my taste buds. Grateful that my daughter can attend the college of her choice. Grateful that I cannot legally be discriminated against based on the color of my skin or my gender. I am grateful to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and all those brave citizens who fought for my right to freedom and equality.

*Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ –Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

*The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education. –Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

*I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. –Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
