When was the last time you had a big, hearty laugh?
It’s time for another one.
Finding joy and amusement in life – humor and laughter – can produce a sense of happiness and freedom. Humor and laughter are key ingredients in overall health. Laughter can improve your emotional and physical well- being. Laughter helps healing by boosting your immune system, lowering blood pressure, and increasing the number of disease fighting cells. Laughter can also relieve tension, sharpen creativity, increase problem solving abilities, soothe the pain of disappointment and strengthen the spirit. A strong laugh also gives the muscles of your face, shoulders, diaphragm and abdomen a good workout. Laughter burns up as many calories per hour as brisk walking. When we laugh with family and friends we often can our relationships as we enjoy our time together. Overall, humor and laughter encourage a positive, hopeful attitude.
Take a load off your mind with a daily humor break. Incorporate humor with funny pictures, comic strips, jokes, stories, comedic movies and TV shows, funny email or social media messages, or a chat with an upbeat person. The best thing about laughter is it’s free. Take some and spread it around.
Now, tell me your best joke!
