You Asked For It, You Got It

Today is July 1st — officially the beginning of the second half of the year. I am kicking off the month by participating in my second “Ultimate Blog Challenge”. I will use this challenge to challenge you to up your game. I will be authoring 31 special blogs during the month of July.

You know me as the Chief Visionary Officer of The Teen Toolbox – teen life skills, youth portfolio development, foster care, education, and community service, but this month I have something special for adults. Are you currently job hunting? Are you a new college graduate? Are you ready to change jobs? Maybe you know someone who can benefit from new job search strategies? Well guess what? I am dedicating the next 30 days to helping adults who are seeking employment. Yes, my fellow adults, this one is for you.

Are you wondering WHY the shift in focus? It’s true I am extremely passionate about empowering teens and young adults but this isn’t really a shift in focus for me (more on that tomorrow). Here are the 5 main reasons why I am blogging for adults this month:

  1. I know the benefits of doing work that you love.
  2. I understand the value in being appreciated and rewarded for doing great work.
  3. The economy and job market continue to change.
  4. Economic stability is something we all are striving for.
  5. You asked for it and you got. Every time I facilitate a teen workshop adults ask me when I’m going to deliver a workshop for them.

Please feel free to leave your job search questions and comments on this blog or email them to me at info (at) theteentoolbox (dot) com.

Are you ready? Good! See you tomorrow for tip number 1!
