No matter where you are in your job search being aware of your transferable skills gives you a boost. Transferable skills are skills that are not limited to one knowledge area – they are transferable to many occupations. Honestly, all the skills you have acquired are transferable skills. Your task is to clearly show employers how the skills apply to their company or how they will benefit.
Whether you are applying for a job as an auto mechanic, librarian, cashier, or bicycle salesperson you will be expected to meet deadlines, resolve conflict, prioritize tasks, take initiative, and communicate clearly. Here are other transferable skills many employers seek.
