I Was Hiding Behind My Jobs!

Elevation requires honesty and transparency. I am always on a journey of self-discovery – every new level in life demands a different version of me.

Remember when I told you that I would never leave you where I haven’t gone! Well, here’s a bit more transparency and I trust that it will help you as much as it helps me.

I’ve told you all how I would dim my light – personally and professionally – so that others could shine. How I would shrink to give others the chance to rise. How I would slow down so others could catch up. I’ve admitted that I remained in the background for years and didn’t take credit for the work that I have done. This is exactly why I can call it out in my clients and help them move past it.

Well, last week I realized that I had not only been hiding at my jobs, but I had also been hiding behind my jobs. OMG, I’ve been hiding behind my jobs!!!!!!

Hiding behind my jobs kept me in my jobs and out of full-time entrepreneurship. Hiding behind my jobs looked like avoiding media, turning down projects, not submitting conference proposals, and not showing up fully on social media to eliminate the possibility of a conflict of interest with my employer – or that’s what I told myself. My jobs gave me an excuse to play small.

My coach says that things come up when they’re ready to be cleared. So, what do I do now that this has come to the surface? I attack the issue at the core by showing up for myself. I am my priority.

I deserve my best!

Guess what? You deserve your best also!!
