I Will Sing of the Goodness of God

When I tell you that my friends and I were sent angels of protection during my entire Costa Rica birthday vacation! I had a great time but there were some moments…it was definitely an adventure.

From needing to refuel our plane, to driving to a dark treehouse in the dark, to the front driver’s side tire going into a practically invisible hole surrounded by gravel on a mountain, to the passenger side tire getting a flat as soon as we pulled into a full-service gas station, to driving through the rainforest in the rain – three women in a foreign country!

When we got into the first Lyft at the Houston airport after a nearly 5-hour delay, the first song we heard was “Safe In His Arms” by Milton Brunson and the Thompson Community Singers (1986). I heard the message loud and clear. I felt safe.

Oh, but the kicker was driving in the mountains at zero dark thirty and hitting fog so think we could barely see arm’s length in front of us. We passed a delivery truck sitting on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere with his flashers on. As we passed him, he pulled out behind us. We got nervous for various reasons, but the driver then honked his horn, flashed his lights, pulled in front of us, and put his flashers back on to lead us safely out of the mountains. I don’t believe in coincidences – I am sure he was operating in obedience. We thank God for sending that Sanchez delivery truck!
