So excited to kick off National Social Work Month and Women’s History Month with a Mind and Manna YouTube Channel interview with Sunya Folayan on Wednesday, March 1, 2022, at 10:00am CST/11:00am EST.

Sunya is a social entrepreneur and the epitome of defining social work career success on your own terms. She is a commissioned teaching artist in textiles and West African drumming; a principal owner in a benefits corp. for macro social work, and the owner of a financial self-care and coaching company. As a certified financial social worker, her 40+ years in social work have provided the skills for her financial activism and published work. Sunya realized the arts are a critical tool in the development of critical thinking, self-care, and problem-solving skills and therefore spends a lot of time in her art practice. Sunya expanded her art to the state of Jalisco, Mexico where she is building a studio in order to fulfill her intention of building a transnational practice.

The Mind and Manna YouTube Channel is geared toward Black women 55+ who want to repair their finances and level up to a more intentional lifestyle of freedom, travel and ease wherever they choose to live in the world. Sunya shares financial self-care information, tax benefits of travel information, life in Mexico, and more. She believes that it’s never too late to increase our cash flow and live out our dreams.

The topic for my Social Work Month interview is ‘Choosing Yourself at This Stage of Life’. Join us on YouTube as we discuss nontraditional leadership for Black women, prioritizing yourself, and the reinvention of self leading to new paths and new places…even abroad.
