The right mindset is essential for success in all life areas. A positive mindset is critical to building a successful career. Rigidity and fear are career killers.
It is extremely unlikely that an employee who is always sad, angry, complaining, combative, divisive, or who feels useless or hopeless will get promoted while in that state of mind. An employee who believes they are stuck or being exploited or being targeted is not usually in the frame of mind to strategize and problem solve successfully without support. With support, however, they can shift their mindset.

An employee with a growth mindset has an optimistic view of their brand, talents, skills, abilities, and intellect. To build a successful career in today’s job market, one must be flexible and adaptable. This career-minded employee understands that failure is a part of the success journey, is not afraid to participate in new opportunities or experiences and believes that with focus and consistency they can improve or excel. Additionally, this employee will contribute to the good of the team and company because they welcome constructive feedback, are willing to learn from others, and are open to collaboration instead of seeing everyone around them as a threat or competitor.
