Nicki Sanders’ Management Philosophy

I am not a perfect woman! I am not a perfect leader!  None of us are…and we never will be!! Perfect people don’t exist.

As a perfectionist in recovery, I can admit the mistakes I’ve made in hiring, leading my teams, managing up, and even in building my own career. Those mistakes have turned into valuable personal and professional lessons!

I’ve learned and grown and made new mistakes as a leader. And…I’m good with that. In fact, I’m great with that because it allows me to lead with authenticity and boldness and to also help my clients and students to do the same on their career journey.

This confidence, competence and credibility I bring to you did not happen overnight. I have had management training, but I did not find my management sweet spot in a textbook or sitting in a classroom. I developed confidence, competence, and credibility  on the frontlines. The journey hasn’t always been smooth but I wouldn’t trade my professional experiences for anything in the world! I am a better leader because of them.

What has not changed, despite challenges or setbacks, is my leadership philosophy. I genuinely love people and believe that your staff are your greatest asset. Remember, we are all in the people business.

I believe that every employee should: (1) be treated with fairness, (2) be respected as an individual, (3) receive the training and support needed to excel in their role, (4) be recognized and appreciated for a job well done, and (5) be given the opportunity to develop as a professional.

Sound like a tall order? Unsure how to provide these 5 benefits to your staff while staying true to your mission or making a profit. It can be done!!! Trust me. I’ve lived it, I don’t just write about it.

It’s who I am. It’s what I believe at my core. It dictates how I show up and engage with my team. It is how I lead!!

It is a part of my legacy.
