Reflect Then Move Forward

The end of the year is a great time to reflect on your accomplishments, goals, health and relationships. I’m a believer in “slowing down to speed up” but as 2014 comes to a close please don’t lose your momentum. Take time to reflect, then plan and move forward.

 

This year has been full of new professional endeavors that stretched me and forced me out of my comfort zone. Truth be told, I loved it. It was exciting and challenging at the same time. I honestly did not realize how busy (and tired) I was until I sat still over the Thanksgiving holiday. Once I stopped moving I realized I was exhausted. I took a few days to get myself together then back to the grind. My mind was saying go but my body was saying no. I was forced to take a couple of sick days.

 

So, today I am following my own advice by slowing down but I will not stop. I will move forward with better time management, support, and mindfulness. I can’t take care of anyone else until I take care of myself. Self-care isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity!
