Resources, Answers, and Opportunities Find Me

I am so super excited that the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is dedicating time and resources to environmental justice and super grateful that someone shared the virtual forum specifically with me. In a previous social media post, I asked to be connected to social workers working in environmental, eco, or green social work and this forum definitely delivers. Prior to learning about the virtual forum, I selected a title and topic for an upcoming virtual Masterclass that directly relates. Stay tuned for an invitation.

From NASW: Discover how social work can play a transformative role in addressing the pressing environmental challenges of our time by attending the 2023 NASW Virtual Forum which will be held on Wednesday, November 1st, and Thursday, November 2nd, 2023. The theme for this two-day virtual event will be “Environmental Justice: Through the Social Work Lens.”

This exciting event will bring together experts to share insights about the intersection of social work and environmental justice, empowering you with a deeper understanding of the impact we can make. Keynotes, plenaries, and breakout sessions will address a wide range of topics such as mental health/climate anxiety, ecosocial work, environmental health disparities, activism, racism, ethics, and much more.

My day continued to get better! Later in the evening, I attended a county government event that made me jump for joy as I was reminded that I have everything that I need to do the things that I am being led to do. I also was filled with gratitude as it was more abundantly clear to me that where I live is the perfect place to be exactly who I am called to be. All the pieces are aligning and my prayers are being answered daily.  I now have a research list, a networking list, a task list, a prayer list, and a gratitude list.

These 3 events reflect my mantra that “social workers deserve to do work that fills our hearts, minds, and wallets”.  These feelings of optimism, opportunity, and overflow are exactly what I want for my clients.
