How does this apply to your career?
Chaos, fear, anger and shock prevent us from thinking clearly and strategically. We are fooling ourselves when we live by the belief that we work best under pressure. We work best when we have time to think and analyze and plan. Time and preparation are our friends.
We all need a plan B. Jobs can end abruptly – firing, layoffs, even disabilities. Other times we simply outgrow our positions and need to move on to maximize our potential. There are specific strategies we can implement to be ready when tragedy strikes or awesome opportunities arise.
