What Do You Have Playing On Repeat?

In October, we examined our limiting beliefs and I made tangible strides with great results. If we’re going to finish 2021 strong and launch into 2022 with power and intention, let’s spend a little more time in self-reflection and then go forth with strategic action. Why? Because they say that lessons in life will be repeated until they are learned, and October sure let me know that we can be both a masterpiece and a work in progress simultaneously.

In September, I took my first real vacation since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. I had a great time. The message I shared is to take your paid time off. Then in October I unexpectedly went into overdrive. I planned to take a trip to my favorite state and never set aside the time. I planned to take a couple of days off and never did. I knew I needed to slow down – I even said it aloud to myself – but I did not. Do you know what happened? With my mind racing and replaying the millions of things I needed to do, I made a ridiculous decision that resulted in me hurting myself. I was then forced to sit down and rest and now I’m in the painful nursing myself back to health phase. Key Lauryn Hill, “It could all be so simple. But you’d rather make it hard.” UGH! When I ignore my own intuition and boundaries, the results are never good.

I thought I had conquered ‘busyness’. I thought I had firmly reset my boundaries so that another person’s lack of planning which results in their crisis does not become my emergency. They both decided to return for a visit last month. I’m going to keep it really real – busyness is one way that self-sabotage shows up for me!

Back in the day, we talked about going in circles. Going in circles essentially means you keep ending up in the same place or you are not making any real progress. Today, Jonathan McReynolds sings about going in Cycles. I’m going to keep it super simple. Are there any lessons that you are currently repeating?
