31 Days of S.O.F.T. Leadership in Practice

March is Social Work Month and Women’s History Month.

For most of my career, I focused on doing the work – not documenting it.

I did my job well, because what else would I do?

My work spoke for itself… just not always in rooms I wasn’t in.

Over the years, I supervised diverse groups of professionals who became leaders.

Executive Directors.

PhD’s.

Department heads.

Public health leaders.

Senior leadership in school systems.

At the time, I didn’t think of those outcomes as something I helped create

I was just doing my job in the way that made sense to me.

Of course, I now understand that I was practicing leadership development.

Before I understood that developing people was not the norm—it was the exception.

Before I gave it language.

Before I called it S.O.F.T. Leadership™.

I’ve spent nearly two decades building leaders while often downplaying my role in their growth and the depth of my work experience.

The change is here!

For the next 31 days, I’m sharing leadership moments, lessons, and wins I previously minimized or kept private.

Not to bag or relive the past, but to give language to what I now know was the beginning of a repeatable leadership framework.

Because leadership is not just about what you accomplish.

It’s about who develops from and how you show up during your leadership.

This is S.O.F.T. Leadership™ – all month long.
