As we close out Black History Month and near the start Women’s History Month and Social Work Month I’m reminded that I went into social work to become a leader and an entrepreneur.
– Community Economic Development
I went into social work to build and lead an intergenerational community connecting seniors and young people in and aging out of foster care.
I’ve dedicated my career to working at the intersections of macro/mezzo social work, social justice, and public health.
Throughout my career, I’ve moved through many of the phases and industries required to make an intergenerational community a successful reality – residential, community, and school-based programming, workforce development, education/higher education, social impact, volunteer and community engagement, food sovereignty…
I have a masters degree in social work with a concentration in management and community organization and a specialization social action and community development.
The beauty of growth and personally implementing S.O.F.T. Leadership™ is that I now understand that I don’t have to build this alone – that I can’t build it alone.
I would love to connect with people committed and connected to a similar mission.
I want to meet more of you connected to food sovereignty, collective economics, sustainability and climate justice.
I want to attend new community meetings, collaborative initiatives, and business events.
I want to visit your farms, family compounds and intergenerational communities.
I want to have meaningful discussions with builders, developers, funders and planners.
And this absolutely is in line with my S.O.F.T. Leadership™ coaching and consulting!
How?
Because I’m committed to changing how we live and lead outside of our tiny corner of the world…AND…because it will be the leadership framework implemented in every aspect of this intergenerational community.
No burnout, exploitation or pretending on my watch…or land.
So today I’m reiterating that…
I’m ready to use my leadership experience and macro social work degree to get back to my original dream – with more experience, knowledge, and community.
