“Remember Who You Are”!
Remember those wise words from Ramonda, former Queen of Wakanda, to her son King T’Challa before his battle in the Black Panther movie? Well, they apply to you too! (#funfact This was also an important directive from Mufasa to Simba in The Lion King.)
Remember Who You Are: Stop disqualifying yourself from jobs where you meet at least 70% of the qualifications. You need a job that you can grow into and that grows with you.
Remember Who You Are: You wouldn’t let someone steal your wallet filled with the hard-earned credit or debit card that you worked for so stop letting your boss or coworkers steal the credit for your work.
Remember Who You Are: Speak up. I never understood how we won’t let people silence or talk over top of us at home, but we let people do it at work. Stop it.
Remember Who You Are: Your Mom asked you if your friends jumped off a bridge would you do it too and your answer was no, so stop going along with the ridiculous ideas, tasks, and concepts presented at work. Stand up.
Remember Who You Are: You and your degrees come to work every day ‘hair done, nails done, everything did’, yet you continue to shy away from the spotlight and shrink into the background. Show up.
When you remember who you are you release the labels, limitations, and liabilities that have attacked your potential. When you remember who you are you can crush the fear, doubt, and shame that has attacked your confidence. When you remember who you are you show up as your brilliant, authentic self and the world must take notice.
You’re not stuck, unqualified, or ineffective, you need to remember who you are! You are greatness! Go Be Great!
Elevation is our word, goal, mantra, vibe, mood, move, action for 2022! Let’s do this!
