I’m Living My Legacy

Legacy – handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor; a heritage

As the countdown to my half-century mark continues, I am consistently focusing on not just the legacy that I want to leave, but also the legacy that I am currently living. Moving beyond thoughts of clarifying my identity and solidifying my branding to legacy thinking is powerful.

1973 – A Princess arrived
1983
– A Candy Girl appeared
1993
– A Mother materialized
2003
– A Woman elevated
2013
– A Queen manifested
2023
– A Legacy emerged

I waited nearly 4 months for the New Edition Legacy Tour to hit our Nation’s Capital. With their 40-year career, New Edition has literally created the soundtrack of my life. The concert was AMAZING! I love New Edition and I love that every new concert is a new concert. New Edition does not rest on past successes or let their age be a barrier to a high-energy performance – they give 100% in every way. This legacy tour was legendary – especially for the day-one fans. New song list, new outfits, new set, and new stage. They incorporated songs from the Candy Girl album that never received any radio play.  I was pleasantly surprised to hear “With You All the Way”.  If you don’t know “Let’s Be Friends” is the next song on the album after “With You All The Way” are you really a #NE4Lifer LOL? Lost In Love and Still In Love were also included in this concert. One down and one to go. Yes, I’m traveling to see the show at the end of the month.

FYI: Black Promoters Collective is amazing at bringing concerts for ‘the culture’
