If it were as simple as “just say no,” more women would.
High-performing women are told to just “set better boundaries” and the advice ends there.
As if the problem is a lack of confidence.
Or poor time management.
Or not knowing how to say no.
But leadership conditioning changes the equation.
When you’ve watched women be labeled “difficult” for speaking up…
When you’ve seen colleagues excluded after challenging expectations…
When you’ve learned that being dependable is what keeps you safe…
Saying “no” doesn’t always feel like a boundary.
It can feel like a risk.
That’s why I don’t tell my clients to “just have better boundaries” and leave it at that!
I help them recognize the leadership conditioning that taught them boundaries come with consequences.
Because you can’t dismantle what you haven’t named.
And once you can name it…
You can evaluate your choices and consequences differently.
What “leadership advice” has felt tone deaf?
If you’re ready to understand why leadership has felt so heavy, let’s talk.
