Thank you for a decade of care and support for teen girls!
Since 2007, JaMai and Packaged For Success (formerly The Teen Toolbox) have collected and delivered 3,895 purses to 49 organizations that serve teen girls in foster homes, group homes, and homeless shelters.
Our 10th Annual Pack A Purse™ Drive begins November 1, 2016 and ends December 5, 2016. We are once again collecting purses (tote bags and other handbags) filled with personal hygiene items for teen girls in need.
Our 2016 goal is to collect 1,000 purses which will be delivered before Christmas Day.
Only new and gently used purses will be accepted.
- New personal hygiene items needed: toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, soap, lotion
- Also accepting: shampoo, lotion, lip balm, hand sanitizer, feminine hygiene products
Stability, safety, and love are essential for all of us regardless of age. Many youth in foster care move several times which can be traumatic and lonely. They often have to leave their personal belongings behind or their important possessions can get lost as they move through different placements. Black garbage bags have become the unofficial luggage of youth in the foster care system. This is unacceptable! Children are not trash and neither are their personal items! We need YOU to help us ensure that local teen girls in foster care have something of their very own (purses) and the personal hygiene items (care packages) needed for daily grooming. Show them that someone cares.
We are in need of volunteers to host community collection drives, volunteer packers for our Purse Packing Party on 12/10/16, and volunteer delivery drivers to help make deliveries to recipient organizations in the Baltimore Washington metropolitan area.
The right intern can help you increase your productivity and profits while bringing new ideas to your company. Pack A Purse™ Drive is a great group project or long-term project for interns to coordinate.
