An internship is a temporary position with an emphasis on on-the-job training rather than merely employment, and it can be paid or unpaid. Ageism is the prejudice, discrimination, and hostility towards older people. Avoid ageism in your company.
Don’t limit the growth of your company by only offering internships to young people who are traditional age and college students. Older adults, career changers, and nontraditional college students can bring maturity, diversity, transferable skills, valuable experiences, and innovative ideas to the table. You can further develop the brain trust in your organization by pairing older and younger workers together on projects so they can learn from each other.
