It’s AVAILABLE To ME
Happy New Year!! Welcome to 2018!!
At the end of every year I reflect on my desires and fears, goals and accomplishments, and ideas and plans. I am both very practical and also a dreamer. These two characteristics – my brain and my heart – are often at odds in both my personal and professional lives.
In January of last year (2017) I visited a house for sale that was so close to the home on my vision board that is was a bit scary. These special encounters continued throughout the year. As I began to reflect on my 2017, I pondered whether the word that best described these amazing encounters was ‘manifestation’.
As more of the things that I had spoken about and meditated on emerged, I realized that ‘manifestation’ was not the right word because although my dreams were materializing in front of me, the items did not belong to me. They were visible, but they were not mine.
I taught two college courses in 2016 and two college courses in 2017. I watched a video by Lisa Nichols before showing it to my classes in 2016 and watched it again last year before showing it to both my classes. In case you weren’t keeping count, I’ve seen the same video six times. as I watched the video for the sixth time I heard with ‘new’ ears Lisa’s story about touching her rich friend’s things when she visited their home. She then said, “if there is zero distance between you and a thing then that thing is available to you”. YES, YES, and YES!!
My goals, dreams, and desires of my heart are not just possible or logical, they are available. More specifically and more importantly they are AVAILABLE TO ME!! I receive that!!
As a natural born nurturer and a trained social worker I am used to giving and giving and often putting myself last. (I’m working to get better at self-care). My greatest lesson of 2017 was that I can have ALL the things that I hope, dream, pray, and work. They are AVAILABLE to me and I deserve them!
My word for 2017 is AVAILABLE!!
