What Does My TV Viewing Say About Me and My Coaching?

Sharing with you the shows I’ve watched on TV over the last 3+ decades can give you a glimpse into the career plans and farm life dreams I had left unprioritized until last year. Today I’m putting my macro social work skills to use in new ways that further support my elevation and expansion.

Little House on the Prairie led to a stream of random pioneer movies. I loved Hallmark Channel’s Love Comes Softly (2003). I watched all 11 movies in the Love Saga through 2009.

I was an early HGTV watcher before everything focused on home renovations and flipping – Room by Room (1994), Decorating Cents (1997), If Walls Could Talk (1998), Divine Design (1999), and Design On A Dime (2003).

Baby Boom (1987) starring Diane Keaton is one of my favorite movies. I also love For Richer or Poorer (1997) starring Time Allen and Kirstie Alley.

In the early 2000’s I was watching TV shows like Dirty Jobs (2003), Survivor Man (2004), and Man Vs. Wild (2006).

More of my television viewing guilty pleasures:

  • Find & Design (2004)
  • Swamp People (2010)
  • American Pickers (2010)
  • Sand Masters (2011)
  • Doomsday Preppers (2011)
  • You Live In What? (2012)
  • Extreme Homes (2012)
  • Salvage Dawgs (2012)
  • Buying Alaska (2012)
  • Fixer Upper (2013)
  • Living Alaska (2013)
  • Treehouse Masters (2013)
  • Building Off The Grid (2014)
  • Tiny House, Big Living (2014)
  • Log Cabin Living (2014)
  • Tiny House Nation (2014)
  • Homestead Rescue (2016)
  • We Bought The Farm (2016)

Of course, there were other similar TV shows, movies, and documentaries along the way, but these were my favorite, and you get the point. I was watching other people live the dreams that were in my soul.

I’m now actively moving in the direction of my authentic self, my big dream, and my God-given purpose. Don’t worry, Nicki Sanders Leadership Consulting still fits in the matrix.

  • I know what it’s like to get so busy you have little time to focus on your dreams.
  • I know what it’s like to live in survival mode so you’re afraid to focus on your dreams.
  • I know what it’s like to dim your light and fall into the background so no one can question your dreams.

I see you. I feel you. I understand you.

I also want to challenge you because I know those feeling that way SUCK and that it doesn’t have to be that way. Your dreams deserve you and you deserve your dreams.

If you’re also ready to stop putting your dreams on hold, let’s chat about how On My Terms Leadership Development coaching can assist you in taking specific and concrete actions.

IT’S YOUR TIME! IT’S GO TIME!
