How Did May Work Out For You?

Let’s do a little self-reflection as the month of May comes to a close.

May is National Mental Health Month and National Walking Month.

These two are intertwined for me. I love being outside in nature and walking in quiet among grass and trees. Nicki in Nature (#nickiinnature) doesn’t mean cliff jumping or white water rafting or hunting wild animals, it means slowing down and breathing in fresh air and looking at amazing views.

What goals did you set and achieve this month?

How did May work out for?

I thought about saying May was a mixed bag, but that’s not actually true. It has been amazing.

I had my student loans forgiven (Thank God and Amen). Have I told yall lately that I live in answered prayers?!

I slowed down and took the rest that I needed which translated into less walking but more clarity followed by a busy two-week period.

LinkedIn Post: If you don’t choose a day to rest…

When I think further about my mental health, throughout the month I continually reconnected with my authentic self while returning to who I was before various and multiple life interruptions.

I understand the power of my words! I am being more intentional about how and what I speak about my life. Here are 5 affirmations that I added to my life this month:

  1. I am embracing feeling good and experiencing an abundant life NOW.
  2. My past is my past, and my past won’t hinder my future.
  3. I forgive myself for mistakes I made and grant myself grace as I build my future.
  4. I am taking up space and using my voice.
  5. I love my body, my mind, my dreams, and my goals.
