Why Nicki Loves Cupcakes

I have a serious sweet tooth. I find apple pie, caramel candy and Sour Patch Kids hard to resist.  As you know by now, cupcakes are my favorite dessert.  There was a time when I would only have a cupcake every other month so that I would not over indulge. That soon began to feel like self-deprivation. I decided that I would have at least one cupcake per month and I would “sweeten the deal” by having that monthly cupcake at a new bakery. Nicki Loves Cupcakes because cupcakes are delicious! My sweet tooth has been paired with my love of travel.

Cupcakes can also be a metaphor for living a full life.

  1. Feed Your Soul – A cupcake is a sweet food.  We need food/sustenance in order to live. A cupcake can fill an empty stomach. A cupcake is a reminder to nourish and maintain your physical as well as mental, spiritual, and emotional health.
  2. Explore Your World – Visiting a new bakery for my cupcake of the month is one small way that I continue to explore my world. Cupcakes can be found in the smallest town, in the biggest cities, and all around the world.  People of different ages, races, ethnicities, religions, nationalities, and economic classes can all enjoy a cupcake together. Let cupcakes remind you to leave your comfort zone.
  3. Creativity – There are no rules when it comes to cupcake flavors. Cupcake bakers and decorators can experiment with flavors, colors, sizes, textures, and even aromas.  Cupcakes can be stuffed with fun fillings or decorated to look like animals. Cupcake flavors can be combined to create new flavors. Use a cupcake as inspiration to be creative and try new things.
  4. Adaptability – Cupcakes are an appropriate dessert for any occasion.  I’ve seen cupcakes with baby shower, wedding, graduation, and house-warming themes. There are cupcake baking competitions and cupcakes have also been used as prizes. Change is constant and technology is bringing the world closer together. Be open to new opportunities. Be adaptable like a cupcake.
  5. Celebrate Life – As mentioned previously, many people celebrate special occasions with cupcakes.  Cupcakes are also often used as rewards or incentives. Have a cupcake and remember to celebrate big and small accomplishments and both ordinary and extraordinary life events.
